I went out for groceries last night, needing to get, amongst other things, water, a chicken (with neck and feet), Fab (new brighter colours with lemon fragrance), yoghurt, oranges (navel), kiwifruit, margarine, cooking oil, and some dinosaurs.
I was driving back on the highway leading to the condo on the top of the hill, when I saw a row of cars, in the middle lane, moving very slowly. There were 5 cars, and they were all moving at exactly the same speed. The lanes on either side were clear, and I wondered what the hell was going on. I sped up to catch the ‘train’, and as I drove past each car, I looked across to see what the drivers were doing.
And without exception, they all had their mobile phones in their right hand, typing out an SMS message on the keypad. 5 cars. In a row. As I went past them I wondered what would happen if I pulled in front of the first car and braked very suddenly.
