Ahhhh-Choooo!!! 4/27/2006

I seem to have picked up some sort of bug.  My nose is running, my head feels like it’s in a different area of gravity from my body, my hands and feet have no strength, and my bones ache.

Acute common coryza, as Dr Liew would put it.

There was a time when getting the flu wouldn’t be the crisis that it is now, for me.  I could shrug off things like this in 24 hours.  It’s different now.  Infections linger for days.  My nose has been leaking brain fluid for the last 48 hours, with seemingly no end in sight.

And it wasn’t so funny this morning when I sneezed inside my helmet, and promptly cut my visibility down to zero with snot decorating the inside of my visor.

‘I sneezed inside my helmet,’

It’s not just the environmentally aware who dream of seeing a green world! :-)

Cheer up. I killed my first warm-blooded creature with the bike today. A small bird tried to fly across my path as I was dropping into a gentle left-hand bend at 90 (mph, not kph). It collided with the knuckles on my clutch hand and spread blood and guts up my arm. Ew!

I should be grateful it wasn’t a pheasant. They weigh in at over a kilo and might have upset the balance of the bike a bit more. It was only a quarter mile away from where a work colleague swerverd in a car to avoid a pheasant, ran off the road and cut the car & himself in half around a tree. Next time, and for the sake of his remaining leg, he says he’s going to mow the bugger down!

Somehow this post makes the moisture on this week’s girl less enticing.
