Obituary. 5/23/2006

Last weekend, the club buried a brother. Easyrider_sg, a.k.a. Ken, was killed riding in Thailand. He had an accident about 100 kms out of Hadyai on the 15th of May, and died on the spot. Ken leaves behind his wife, and parents.

Some pictures from the funeral, posted by Alan Swee.

Ken was a member of the SG chapter of our club, and I met him once at our Annual Family Day. He will be missed by us all. Ride in peace mate.

In an interesting coincidence, I had the pleasure of meeting a university professor from Thailand last week. She was visiting us to watch and learn about our motorcycle safety program. I happen to be an instructor. There is a lot of pressure to start some sort of training there. Seems impossible to bring order to chaos over there, but I wish them luck. Condolences to all for Ken’s death.

Joko : Yeah, I still haven’t put Eddie’s one up yet. Still trying to find the words for it.

Irondad : Thank you for your kind words, and visiting The Snark. What I have found over many years of riding here is that road safety is a matter of training, from young, and attitude. Unfortunately, no one seems to be doing anything about it. Joko has suggested previously somewhere else that the local bikers get together as a political force, but as is usual, apathy rules the day.
