Verging on the ridiculous. 9/25/2006
This was the view from my office at 1800 hours today. What do you see? Rows of cars stuck in a traffic jam?

I see millions of dollars of infrastructure under utilised, or wasted. I see thousands of dollars worth of fuel going to waste. I see hundreds of man hours sitting still, doing nothing productive. Well, unless you would call holding in the contents of your bladder productive.
Is this city going to go the way of other developed nations, where we become slaves to the automobile? I look at the acres of space devoted to car parks. I see mile upon mile of road constructed just to bring cars from one point to another. And in all of this, where is the motorcycle? You won’t see any on that elevated highway. They’re banned from using the highway. Because they don’t pay any tolls.
So you can drive a car, and be stuck in a jam for hours, paying for the privilege. Or you can do what I do, and ride a motorcycle. Having fun in the process.

lucky i don’t have to go through that
If not for the fact that I think motorcycles are dangerous, I would have gotten one for myself too, you know. Can climb just about anything…from ramps, to stairs, from curbs to flyovers. Cars have to go all around the world and back just to get across the road!!
And the picture is so true. That’s why I will never decide to go back to working in KL. Give me headache just to think of it!
Marsha : But motorcycles *ARE* dangerous. That’s part of what makes them so much fun.
I have two cars… too much for a single bachelor like me. I have two bicycles. I cycle to work!
I smiled when I weaved pass the jam this morning… ^_^
wow.. is that the Ampang Elevated Highway?
if it is, then most of them would have paid RM1.50 for it too, and still have to be stucked there.
crap.
spiller: sprint highway is the same thing. you pay RM1 to get stuck in the jam either to TTDI or NKVE
Don’t forget that yesterday is the first day of fasting month. You will be expecting that view for another 29 days.
the contrast with the obvious empty lane is amazing. If anything this is testament to the need for better public transportation. Oh well.
And in the morning the traffic goes the other way? People should learn to carpool or take public transport…
