Fatherhood. 12/10/2006
Tonight, I made my acquaintance with young Brandon, who arrived in this world a month ago. Very nice indeed. Not mine though. Belongs to a brother of mine and his beautiful wife.

I’m looking forward to watching this kid growing up. He has a pair of wonderful parents, and his dad’s buddies will always be there to back him up. Maybe 16 years from now I’ll take him racing motorcycles.
Fatherhood is perhaps the greatest responsibility a man can ever take on in his life. Upon being presented with his child, there is an unwritten bond between father and child. That a man has agreed to undertake to care for, and nurture, protect, and educate, this little bundle of joy that he is cradling in his arms.
Some men rise to the occasion, becoming good fathers. Others, sadly, are unable to fulfill their responsibility. It takes a strong man to guide his child in today’s world. A strength of character, and morality, that is very unfortunately lacking. Some others are taken away, by fate, unable to see their responsibility through to the end.
I will say this to my brother, as he embarks on the second stage of his adulthood, as a parent. Make sure you have my number on speed dial.

IB : Perhaps I could recommend the address of a reputable sperm bank?
Oh no… fatherhood scares the shit out of me!
Does that makes you want to make your own baby. Again?
